Permian notes from the road: a fresh set of leadership concerns
Report summary
Our team was in Midland last week, visiting with roughly ten leadership teams. We always cherish the chance to learn from executives in the Tall City and were surprised at how front-of-mind challenges and opportunities for improvement have changed. Costs, supply chain, and Permian power remain important discussion topics. But the issue of the day – and possibly the next few years – is human capital. Experienced technical staff are changing companies, swapping industries, and making tough life-balancing decisions. This sways leadership succession planning. And it impacts project execution. Staffing is a continued issue in the field as well.
