On 23 August 2013, Reliance announced a gas-condensate discovery in the CY-DWN-2001/2 (CY-D5) block, offshore Cauvery basin. The CYIII-D5-S1 well found a 143 metre hydrocarbon column in a Mesozoic reservoir and flowed 35 mmcfd and 413 b/d of gas and condensate on test. The discovery is Reliance's second this year after May's D-55 find. The new field has been named D-56 and is Reliance's third discovery in the deepwater Cauvery Basin. BP is the partner in the block.
