Report summary
China's national oil companies (NOCs) delivered strong production growth in 2012. PetroChina and Sinopec increased gas output by over 10% in their Tarim, Ordos and Sichuan basin operations, whilst offshore production rose by 12%. Oil production remained flat at 4.1 million b/d, supported by Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects in the Daqing and Shengli fields. Three licensing rounds were launched in 2012.
