The Sarta oil field is located in the Kurdistan region of Iraq (KRI), 35 kilometres north of Erbil. Despite the field being under-appraised, an early development phase was approved in early 2019. Chevron farmed-out a 30% stake to Genel Energy alongside the development approval in 2019.
