Sauts Oil, a private Kazakh upstream firm, operates a portfolio of oil fields in the South Turgai basin. Aggregate crude output peaked at 20,000 b/d in the mid-2010s, underpinned by the Kenlik and Southwest Karabulak deposits. The latter is one of six discoveries made since 2006.The fields lie close to the Kazakhstan-China Oil Pipeline and most oil is exported east.
