South Pars is a super-giant gas field located in the Persian Gulf. Iran shares the field with Qatar, where it is known as the North Field. The northeast part of the field is in Iran, while the main part is in Qatar. It is the world's single largest gas accumulation with over 2,000 tcf of recoverable resources. South Pars is being developed in 24 phases - each covering a discrete area. The development of South Pars Phase 13 began in 2011 as a single project.
