Report summary
The giant South Russkoye gas field lies in the Yamal-Nenets region of West Siberia, approximately 80 kilometres southeast of the Zapolyarnoye field. Most of the gas is found in the Cenomanian reservoir, the main gas-bearing horizon in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region. Cenomanian gas reservoirs in this region have excellent permeability and contain almost pure methane.
