Report summary

The giant South Russkoye gas field lies in the Yamal Nenets region of West Siberia approximately 80 kilometres southeast of the Zapolyarnoye field. Most of the gas is found in the Cenomanian reservoir the main gas bearing horizon in the Nadym Pur Taz region. Cenomanian gas reservoirs in this region have excellent permeability and contain almost pure methane.
