Tanzania upstream fiscal summary
Report summary
Upstream licences in Tanzania are awarded under production sharing contract (PSC) terms which are governed by the 2015 Petroleum Act. The application and awarding of licences are negotiated through bids submitted in licensing rounds or on an ad hoc basis. The model used in this analysis includes the terms as set forth in the 2015 Petroleum Act. The National Oil Company (NOC), Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TDPC), has the option to a minimum 25% stake in any commercial development, comprising a carried interest through the exploration phase.
