Taq Taq is an oil field located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq around 55 kilometres to the northeast of Kirkuk. The field produces a light crude from Cretaceous reservoirs and a heavy crude from the Pila Spi. A PSA was awarded to Genel Enerji later Genel Energy in 2002 and Addax joined in 2005. Production started under a PSA in 2008 and ramped up to a daily peak of over 142 000 b/d in Q1 2015. However a recent downgrade to reserves means that the full capacity of 150 000 b/d will not be used. The field is directly connected to the Kurdistan Export pipeline.
