The Temsah development lies adjacent to Eni's Port Fouad development offshore Egypt. Eni was awarded the licence in 1991 and made its first discovery in 1995 with the Denise-1 well. Twelve fields containing over 3.6 tcf of gas have since been discovered on the block. The operator was awarded a development licence in 1996, and, in 1998, a gas sales agreement (GSA) was reached to supply gas to the domestic market.
