Report summary
On 31 March 2015, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell issued a Record of Decision for the Outer Continental Shelf Lease Sale 193 in the Chukchi Sea, affirming the lease sale and all leases. The 2008 sale, in which Shell, Statoil, ConocoPhillips, Repsol, ENI, and Iona Energy submitted a combined $2.7 billion in bonuses, was suspended following a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in early-2014.
