Whale (AC 772) is a large oil and gas Paleogene discovery located in the southern Alaminos Canyon protraction area of the Western Gulf of Mexico, approximately 21 kilometres (13 miles) from the international boundary between the US and Mexican waters. Whale was discovered by Shell (60% and operator) and Chevron (40%) in 2017 using the Noble Globetrotter I drillship.
