What does President Bouteflika’s resignation mean for Algeria’s oil and gas sector?
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika resigned, after almost 20-years in power. Street protests, mounting political pressure and a lack of military support led to him standing down. The political turmoil comes at a critical time for Algeria's energy sector. Gas demand is increasing, but the pipeline of new projects is limited. The timely delivery of new gas developments is fundamental to staving off looming production decline. But both project sanctions and the new hydrocarbon code are likely to be impacted by delays.
