On 18 March 2015, Whitecap Resources Inc. announced it will acquire Beaumont Energy Inc. for Cdn$587.5 million (US$460 million). The acquisition adds to Whitecap's sizable core position in the Viking (Kerrobert) area of west central Saskatchewan and falls in line with it's strategy of acquiring high netback, low decline sustainable assets with development upside.
