Woodside opts out of Leviathan
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Woodside Petroleum and the partners in Israel's giant Leviathan gas field agreed to terminate the MoU for Woodside to enter the project. Smaller volumes of gas available for LNG inhibited the deal. The end of Woodside's interest in the project is not a major near-term set-back for the existing partnership given the prioritisation of the domestic and regional markets. Woodside will now have to return to the M&A market to refill the investment pipeline with more immediate opportunities.
