Yarigui-Cantagallo is a very mature oil field located in the Middle Magdalena Valley basin and is one of Ecopetrol's key redevelopment projects. It has been onstream since the 1940s and output peaked in 1962 at just over 20,000 b/d. By 1999, production had declined to 5,000 b/d, solely through primary recovery. Since then, Ecopetrol has implemented secondary recovery through a full-scale waterflood and infill drilling programme, and production hit a secondary peak of just over 18,000 ...
