A busy end of the year in Guyana and Suriname. ExxonMobil and partners announced first oil in Liza. Guyana's government time to implement good oil wealth governance runs fast. The Stabroek block partners have also announced the Mako discovery, sitting only 10 kilometres away from Liza. In neighbouring Suriname, Total has acquired a 50% stake and operatorship of Apache's Block 58, highlighting a potentially sizeable discovery in the Maka Central-1 well.
