    • Welcome Remarks

    • Challenges of the Natural Gas Market in Mexico

As domestic production continues to decline in the short-term, US gas imports are more important than ever. With the debottlenecking of the pipeline network and Permian production reaching new heights while pressuring prices to historic lows, many questions arise if Mexico’s gas market dynamics are switching once again.

His focus has been in depth analysis and evolution of the Mexican gas market, including the impacts of new pipelines constructions and gas demand centers. He has a strong background in oil and gas market analysis, appraisal projects and scenario modelling. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Rodrigo worked at Duff & Phelps for 2.5 years performing E&P appraisal models focused in Mexican Oil & Gas fields, developed reports and market analysis for different clients and recently was responsible for the economic operation and management of Pemex new JVs as Operator. • The Race for the Electricity Market in Mexico: Renewables vs. Natural Gas

Mexico's power grid is changing by the day as new renewable projects are integrated and gas infrastructure is finally completed. The pace and mix of future investment will depend on several key factors -- today's political and regulatory environment, the location of renewable resources, intermittency patterns versus firm generation need, and ultimately project economics.
