Wood Mackenzie's Oils & Refining Forum takes place in London on Wednesday 27 February 2019. The theme will be 'IMO: ready or not?'. Join us to discuss our view of the market fundamentals for 2019 and the period through to the end of 2020, focusing on the outlook for crude and European refining given the forthcoming implementation of the IMO legislation and its uncertainties.       • Alan is Global Practice Lead for our refining and marketing research and team leader for the EMEARC Refining and Chemicals Team, responsible for our outlooks and perspectives on this global sector. Alan joined the business as part of our Downstream Consulting Team in 2005 and later went on to lead the division. He has managed consulting assignments all over the world, focusing on major transactions (projects and M&A) and their alignment with key success factors for industry players and third parties. He then transitioned into research upon his return to London from Houston in 2011. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Alan spent 10 years as an industry consultant after working for ExxonMobil in a variety of project planning and technical process design roles.     • OPEC’s dilemma for 2019 and 2020: can it manage the global crude oil market?

      • Ann-Louise Hittle brings to Wood Mackenzie over 25 years of experience in analysing global oil markets. Her career began with Gulf Oil, where she focused on OPEC and markets in Asia. She then worked as a Middle East/Oil Markets research associate with Kissinger Associates and a Senior Oil and Gas Futures Analyst with Shearson Lehman Brothers. During her decades in the industry, Ann-Louise established an international reputation for her analyses of short-to long-term oil markets. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Ann-Louise worked at Cambridge Energy Research Associates, where she was Research Head of the Upstream Oil Service with responsibility for world oil market analysis and writing long-term scenarios. After joining Wood Mackenzie in 2003, she directed the development of the Macro Oils Service, launched in April 2005, and led it until her promotion to Vice President. In addition to overseeing the oils research team, Ann-Louise is a frequent contributor to numerous industry publications and conferences, where she shares her trusted insights on the futures of oil markets. Ann-Louise's extensive experience and deep understanding of Middle East markets make her an invaluable member of the Wood Mackenzie team. With oil markets becoming more complex due to production cuts and the growth of renewables, her guidance helps our research team provide clients with timely, accurate market outlooks.     • IMO: what is it and what are the practicalities of its implementation?

      • Unni Einemo joined IBIA on a permanent basis in April 2016 as its IMO Representative, Media and Communications Manager following a period of two years as a non-Executive board director. She was promoted to the position of Director, IBIA in September 2018 and now has global responsibility for running the Association. Prior to joining IBIA, she worked for two decades as a journalist and analyst in the marine fuel and shipping industries in her capacity as Managing Editor for the highly regarded Bunkerworld and Sustainable Shipping specialist news services at Petromedia, and later Platts, which acquired Petromedia in July 2015. Through writing, and regularly attending industry conferences and IMO meetings, Unni has gained expert industry knowledge.

      • Jonathan Leitch is currently Research Director within the EMEARC refining and oil products research team at Wood Mackenzie, where he leads our coverage of the short term oil products markets, co-ordinating and analysing regional supply and demand trends and producing the outlook for prices and margins. Jonathan also leads Wood Mackenzie’s long-term forecasting for product prices and refining margins. He joined Wood Mackenzie in 2008 after working as a research analyst at another leading oil consultancy where he spent four years actively involved in analysis of the supply and demand fundamentals of the downstream markets. With over 25 years oil market experience, Jonathan has worked in trading for Rhein Oel/RWE Trading dealing with physical crude oil and futures and derivatives. Prior to this he worked for Shell in crude oil operations and shipping. His work in the trading sector has involved writing and negotiating contracts, all aspects of cargo and shipping operations, trade finance, risk management and creating trading strategies.

      • Gordon McManus is a Research Director in the EMEARC Oils and Refining Research team. He is responsible for leading our global coverage of the long term oil products markets; co-ordinating and analysing regional supply and demand trends and the outlook for product cracks and refining margins Gordon joined Wood Mackenzie in 2006, initially specialising in analysis of short and long-term demand trends within the global oil products market. He then transitioned into management of Wood Mackenzie’s Product Markets Service, before becoming Head of the EMEARC Oils Research team. Gordon has also undertaken extensive research into the impact of biofuels on the downstream oil sector. He led the analysis for two major multi-client studies of the global biofuels market and has presented at numerous international conferences on the subject. Gordon holds a first class BSc in chemistry from the University of St. Andrews and a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
