Powered by our proprietary Synoptic AI technology, the Analogues accelerates analogue searches and delivers high-grade, actionable insights, drawing on Woodmac’s own industry-leading subsurface and commercial datasets. It removes user bias and adds focus where it matters to deliver actionable results.
As oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) companies push to meet demand through new discoveries and extended field life, analogue analysis remains critical. Yet traditional analogue workflows are slow, biased and limited by incomplete data and restrictive user inputs.
A game changer
Analogues changes all that. Gone are the days of inefficient, time-consuming manual analogue selection. Analogues delivers speed, precision and objectivity, empowering confident decisions in a competitive landscape.
In as few as three clicks, you can select the input asset, run the workflow and deliver outputs. Analogues can be weighted to tailor outputs for specific disciplines, but all field attributes are still considered.
Lens Subsurface data are analysed and enhanced for optimal AI performance. Where data values are missing, values are imputed using tailored solutions for each attribute type. Broadening the dataset avoids bias towards data-rich areas.
The finder also removes user bias, as outputs consider all attributes, not just those the user deems important. Each data attribute is assessed for consistency, completeness and relational clarity. For every attribute in the data pool, a clustering workflow assigns a similarity score.
The clustering of each attribute is assessed, and the results are weighted according to the user’s area of focus. Weighting helps to provide more meaningful analogues, while continuing to take other attributes into account.
Similarity scores are assessed and the top 50 are presented to the user. Analogue ranking returns only the highest-similarity analogues, adding focus to what matters and giving a holistic view of field similarity.
Analogues looks beyond data siloes. Whether workflows are balanced or weighted to a specific data grouping, all of Wood Mackenzie’s subsurface and commercial data types are considered.
