James Blackwood

James is a research analyst on the Global Analyst team based in Houston, where he primarily covers the US Gulf of Mexico. He conducts technical and commercial research on individual offshore assets as well as broader trends and corporate dynamics in the region.

James joined Wood Mackenzie in 2023.  He supports research on the US Gulf of Mexico via asset modelling, data analytics, and corporate strategy and development.

Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, James worked in risk management for investment funds in California and New York.

James received a masters in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston and holds bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business from Caltech.
