Rory is a director in Wood Mackenzie’s power & renewables consulting division for Europe, the Middle East and African markets. He leads the client engagement and delivery of projects broadly under transaction support and due diligence for wind, solar, storage and flexible power technologies and business planning, market entry and company strategy. He has led the development of the consulting practice across these categories with particular success in advising clients on energy storage, flexible technologies and advancing low-carbon technology in power markets.
Rory has more than 15 years of experience as an analyst and consultant, primarily in clean power technologies. He is a subject matter expert in power system flexibility and energy storage, with tenure in energy storage and European power research. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, he developed a portfolio of grid-scale front-of and behind-the-meter battery energy storage projects. He also has experience in regulation working at Ofgem, the GB energy regulator, where he designed and implemented policy and regulation for power networks and storage.
