Report summary
The propylene growth story is one centred on Asia, as China leads the world in both supply and demand growth. North America is expected to add capacity predominantly to backfill propylene production lost due to lighter steam cracking feedslates, while Europe’s evolving propylene supply gap has driven it to a net propylene monomer import position from 2017 and propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plants are under study. In the Middle East, propylene production will continue to grow via traditional and on-purpose routes. This report analyses these and other important trends in propylene supply, demand and trade through to 2035.
