New large-scale coal project development in Australia remains challenging due to lengthy approval timeframes and financing/ESG constraints. However, several projects have moved swiftly through various stages of approval and financing and are now on the path to either construction or production. With the impending European ban on Russian coal from August, we explore which operators are close to bringing new tonnes to the market to capitalize on record prices.
