Report summary

Calenturitas is a surface mine operating in the Cesar department of Colombia. The mine utilises typical truck-and-shovel mining techniques and is currently in expansion mode as Glencore now has additional export capacity through Puerto Nuevo port. The expansion plan of the mine involves the development of three pit sectors: A, B and C. Exports along the Fenoco rail line were limited during 2015 due to a night time ban to reduce noise originated from rail shipments. However, in 2016, Fenoco finished the construction of noise barriers to help mitigate these issues and the ban was lifted.
