Carmichael coal mine
Report summary
Carmichael is the first coal mine to be developed in Queensland's Galilee Basin. No coal from this basin has been previously produced on a commercial scale. The coal tenements are located 160 kilometres north-west of the town of Clermont. Carmichael's coal resources lie within Exploration Permit for Coal (EPC) 1690 and Mining Lease Applications (MLA) 70441, 70505 and 70506 have been submitted for the project.
