Koornfontein is a medium sized thermal coal mine. Koornfontein is located 40 kilometres south east of Witbank in the Mpumalanga province, covering the Broodsneyersplaats 25 IS, Blesbokvlakte 24 IS, Welverdiend 23 IS, Aberdeen 152 IS, Bultfontein 187 IS, Dunbar 189 IS, Wilmansrust 47 IS, Hartebeestkuil 185, Driefontein 153 IS, and Geluk 26 IS farms.
