Coal exporters licence issues hit 15% of Indonesia's seaborne supply
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
We understand that the Indonesian government has forbidden traders with old Tanda Registrasi (TR) and associated Ekspor Terdaftar (ET) licences to export coal since 1 July 2018. Only traders holding Izin Usaha Pertambangan Khusus untuk Pengolahan dan/atau Pemurnian (IUP OPK) and ET licences are allowed to export coal. The IUP OPK licence is required by traders to process and/or transport minerals including coal. This means ships already loaded by traders with a TR-ET licence will have to be unloaded back to the jetty. We try to gauge its impact on the seaborne trade.
