Drayton coal mine
Report summary
Drayton is a coal mine in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia. The mine produced both standard quality and high-ash export thermal coal prior to its closure in October 2016. The mine lies within mining and coal leases ML1531, CL229 and CL395. Anglo American announced in May 2017 an agreement to sell its 88.17% interest in the Drayton closed mine, Drayton South project and related surface infrastructure to Malabar Coal. The deal was finalised in February 2018. Please refer to the Maxwell asset report for Malabar's planned underground project that will utilise the existing Drayton infrastructure.
