Goonyella Riverside coal mine
Report summary
Goonyella Riverside is a large surface mine, located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin about 30 kilometres north of Moranbah, producing high quality metallurgical coal. The mine covers the Goonyella surface mine (ML1763) and the closed Riverside mine (ML1764). In 2005 the operator started a punch longwall operation at the Broadmeadow underground mine within the Goonyella lease area. For the purposes of this asset report Broadmeadow is treated separately.
