Indika doubles stake in Kideco for US$678 million
Report summary
Indika Energy has announced an agreement with Samtan and Muji Inti Utama to acquire a combined 45% interest in Kideco Jaya Agung for US$678 million. The proposed acquisition would double Indika's output and propel it to become Indonesia's third largest coal producer with over 32 million tonnes coal production in 2018. Samtan's divestment of 40% ownership will leave it with a 9% equity holding in Kideco, although it will continue to be engaged in mining services via Samindo Resources.
