Kitadin Embalut coal mine
Report summary
Kitadin Embalut is an open pit sub-bituminous coal mine located in the regencies of Embalut, Kutai Kertanegara, in East Kalimantan Province. The mine operates under IUP (Mining Business License) and covers an area of 2,973 ha. The mine commenced production in 2009. Kitadin is owned and operated by Indo Tambangraya Megah (ITM), which in turn is majority owned by Banpu through PT Centralink Wisesa International (CWI). ITM operates seven coal mines in Indonesia, with Kitadin holding IUPs for two concessions.
