Leigh Creek coal mine
Report summary
Leigh Creek was the only coal mine in South Australia, before its closure in 2015. The mine is located in the Telford Basin (Lobe B) in the Leigh Creek coalfield, 260 kilometres north east of Port Augusta. The mine produced sub-bituminous coal for use in Port Augusta's Northern and Playford power stations.
