Report summary

Malinau is a bituminous thermal coal mine located approximately 130 kilometres west of Tarakan. The mine is owned and operated by Mitrabara Adiperdana. The mine is comprised of two IUP licenses PT Mitrabara Adiperdana and PT Baradinamika Mudasukses which are both twenty year operation IUP licenses awarded in 2003 and 2009 respectively. The mine produces a high energy, low ash and low sulphur thermal coal for export markets.
