Moorvale is a surface export mine located in the central Bowen Basin. Moorvale produces predominantly pulverised coal injection (PCI) coal, plus small quantities of thermal coal. The mine covers leases ML 70290, ML 70291 and ML 70319. Peabody obtained a major shareholding in the Moorvale joint venture after the merger with Macarthur Coal late in 2011. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now.
