Oaky No 1 coal mine
Report summary
Oaky No. 1 was closed after its reserves were exhausted in 2017. The mine was part of Glencore's Oaky Creek mining complex. The complex includes the adjacent Oaky North underground mine (covered in a separate asset report). Both operations produce hard coking coal for export markets. Oaky Creek is located in Queensland's Bowen Basin, south-west of Mackay and 90km north east of Emerald. Both Oaky North and Oaky No. 1 are covered by mining license ML 1832.
