Wandoan coal mine

Report summary

Wandoan is the largest of a number of projects proposed in the Surat Basin, Queensland. The basin is currently infrastructure constrained, requiring new rail and port developments to facilitate an increase in exports. The project is held by the Wandoan Joint Venture (WJV), which is majority owned by Glencore. The Wandoan coal resources are secured under 24 mining tenures. Mine development is planned within two Mining Leases: ML50229 and MLA50230.
