2025 is set to be a pivotal year for CCUS. A record number of FIDs are expected, industry first start-ups will take place, and even the first commercial scale CO2 ship is due to set sail in 2025. CO2 storage licensing will continue to facilitate the growing capture pipeline. But uncertainty and risk continue to plague the industry, but 2030 targets are fast approaching. Acknowledging the scale of the challenge that persists, governments are set to allocate out huge pools of funding in 2025 to assist project progression. We also expect strategic partnerships to emerge to lever industry knowledge, experience and capital into project development.
