Despite unique challenges, China managed expectations in 2019. Trade tensions with the US, declining car sales, rising pork prices and unrest in Hong Kong marked the year. In response, China showed patience and commitment in many ways to steer the economy. China experienced near 6% economic growth, under 4% inflation and a relatively stable stock market and renminbi in 2019.
