The geothermal sector is literally and metaphorically hot right now. It has the potential to be the low-carbon energy resource of choice, but getting there requires emerging technologies to unlock reservoirs with normal rather than super-heated temperature gradients. Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) and Advanced Geothermal Systems (AGS) are being progressed by independents, with governments starting to recognise the need to establish and refresh policies to regulate this nascent industry and create tangible investment opportunities.
