Report summary
This is Wood Mackenzie's first site visit report on an operational CCS project - Moomba CCS Phase 1. It is the largest operating CCS project storing CO2 in depleted oil and gas fields globally. The project successfully stored 2 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent in just over 18 months of operation. The insight dives into the technical, commercial and regulatory enablers of the project and highlight broader takeaways for the wider CCS industry.
