Report summary
Wood Mackenzie has conducted economic valuations of the first six projects in the Alberta approval process. Our analysis shows that because of the divergence between capture and storage capacity, it is unlikely that all the proposed hubs will have sufficiently strong economics to go forward. We project that hub success will depend on three factors: geology and site selection; location and connectivity to reliable transport infrastructure; and the presence of committed anchor emitters.
