India’s first gas exchange hub – what it means for the market players
Report summary
On 15 June, India Gas Exchange (IGX, a subsidiary of India Energy Exchange) launched the country’s first gas exchange – a digital platform for physical gas trading. The development of the new gas exchange will challenge the current business model for buying and selling gas in India, improving price transparency and facilitating greater use of gas. The new gas exchange will allow independent buyers and sellers to bypass the major aggregators.
