Gas demand stagnates due to the pandemic, with gas-to-power sector contracting by over 20%. However, this is only a short impact with economy expected to start recovery in 2021 and with it gas demand. Power sector continues to dominate the gas landscape, making up 58% of gas demand by 2040. LNG demand grows strongly from 2.9 mmtpa in 2018 to 3.7 mmtpa in 2019. We expect this to continue throughout the long-term with LNG demand reaching 39 mmtpa by 2040.
