Commodity Market Report
LNG short-term trade and price outlook (Q4 2022)
Report summary
European gas prices edged up in early November after a delayed start to winter. Some congestions remain, exacerbated by maintenance on key transit pipelines, prompting LNG NW European prices to maintain their discount to Europe’s TTF. However, the market is well prepared for winter and our fundamental analysis suggests lower prices than currently (TTF at 40$/mmbtu). We expect European hub price spreads to TTF to continue until bottlenecks loosen. We expect Asian LNG prices will follow a similar trend.
