Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: Seasonal LNG maintenance starting
Report summary
After recording new high weekly utilization of 14 bcfd, net US LNG flows are starting to fall back below 13 bcfd as seasonal train maintenance begins. A heavier than normal maintenance season may be in the cards just as we concurrently reach the seasonal low, shoulder season demand period. Meanwhile, US gas production is back up to prior record highs and may search to go even higher. The combination of these trends will result in a rapid acceleration in storage injections. The weekly commodity report seeks to explore: • When will triple-digit weekly injections appear? • Why might this year’s seasonal LNG maintenance be higher? • Will more drastic producer actions be necessary?
