The future of gas investment - lean, mean and going green
Report summary
The cleaner burning credentials of gas should make it critical to meeting global energy demand for decades to come. But the industry can’t be complacent. Attitudes towards gas investment are changing. And while gas may be less polluting than coal and oil, rising ESG awareness and stricter lender criteria are putting gas’ emissions intensity in the spotlight. The industry must now respond, doubling down on reducing costs, tackling carbon and embracing non-traditional partners and sources of capital. Future gas projects must be leaner, meaner and greener.
