The role of gas in the energy transition
Report summary
The energy transition will drive a reshaping of Europe’s energy make up – will gas find (and keep) its place in the mix? Wood Mackenzie's guest speaker Maria Rita Galli, Executive Vice President for Business Development at SNAM, a first mover in bio-methane technologies, joined Massimo Di-Odoardo Vice President, Gas and LNG Consulting to discuss how European players should think about their businesses in a world of net zero emissions by 2050. A combination of innovative technologies and supply sources, including bio-methane, hydrogen, CCS and synthetic methane will all play a part in disrupting the gas and LNG incumbents across power, industry, residential and marine and road transport as well as off grid.
