Report summary
The Abu Dhabi FSRU at Ruwais became the UAE's first LNG import facility in 2016. Located at Ruwais port, this closed-access terminal operates the Express FSRU with 500 mmcfd regasification capacity and 150,900 cubic metres storage across four tanks. ADNOC Gas Processing owns the facility, which provides strategic backup for peak demand and energy security. However, utilisation remains low due to rising domestic gas production and strong pipeline imports from Qatar.
