Abu Dhabi FSRU - LNG regas terminal
Report summary
On 4 August 2016, the 138,074m³ FSRU Excelerate docked at Ruwais in Abu Dhabi. The vessel has been chartered from Excelerate Energy and had previously been used mainly as an LNG carrier since 2006. This is the first facility that allows Abu Dhabi to import LNG. The terminal received its commissioning cargo from Abu Dhabi's ADGAS LNG export facility, only 100 kilometres from its current location. Excelerate FSRU was replaced by Express FSRU in 2019.
