As September began, TTF prices settled higher at around $11.35/mmbtu. The price differential between the basins remains open due to a mix of heatwaves and an unplanned outage at Australia's Ichthys LNG, with train 2 needing repairs that may take up to a month. This has supported the discount to Northeast Asia and incentivised cross-basin flows. Gassco nominations have increased and currently sit around 339 mcmd. Sendouts to Europe have dropped as renewable energy meets much of the cooling demand. European underground storage now sits at 84.7%, closing in on Europe's storage requirement of 90%. Overall, the week-on-week European balance has tightened.
